Welcome to the ZDHC Wastewater & Sludge Sample Collection Training e-Learning course. You have been nominated by your organisation to take this course.

In this e-learning course, you will learn how to conduct wastewater & sludge sampling according to the [ZDHC Wastewater Guidelines Version 2.0] (https://programme.roadmaptozero.com/suppliers/output/wastewater-and-sludge-guidelines-v2). This is a practical training course intending to highlight key elements of technical and practical considerations before, during and after the on-site wastewater & sludge sampling. You will learn more on how to develop and update skills and knowledge about Wastewater sampling. The training will provide a standardised approach to collect ZDHC Samples and Field Information.


How Does This Work?

The entire course needs to be completed in 6 weeks once you have accepted the invitation, including the final examination. After which you will be provided with a ZDHC Certificate.

This are the steps you need to take:

  • Accept the invitation that was sent to you via email.
  • Follow the training course (you are able to take this training at your own pace and repeat the training if needed)
  • Take the exam. To pass, you will need to score at least 75% (maximum 2 attempts)
  • Download the ZDHC Academy certificate

Wastewater & Sludge Samplers working for one of the ZDHC Wastewater Accepted Laboratories.

Note: Learner must be nominated by their employer, which is an Approved Wastewater & Sludge Sample Laboratory, via the Solution Provider Platform


learning outcome

By completing this training, the learners will:

  • Have an understanding of the ZDHC Wastewater Guidelines (Version 2) and the necessary requirements under the Supplier Solutions- Output Section of the Solution Provider Toolkit.
  • Understand the ZDHC expectation when it comes to sampling wastewater and sludge
  • Be granted permission to sample against the ZDHC Wastewater Guidelines (Version 2)
