Welcome to the ZDHC Wastewater & Sludge Sample Collection Training e-Learning course (Version 2.1). You have now been successfully nominated by your organisation to take this course.

In this e-Learning course, you will learn how to conduct wastewater & sludge sampling according to the ZDHC Wastewater Guidelines Version 2.0. This is a practical training course intending to highlight key elements of technical and practical considerations before, during and after the on-site wastewater & sludge sampling. You will learn more on how to develop and update skills and knowledge about Wastewater sampling. The training will provide a standardised approach to collect ZDHC Samples and Field Information.

• Understand the general expectations to conduct wastewater & sludge sampling in accordance to ZDHC Wastewater Guidelines 2.1
• Understand which reference documents are important to read and consider
• Understand what the key responsibilities are of the sampler, which precautions to take during onsite sampling
• Understand the communication flows, planning and documentation onsite
• Understand which equipment to use when, timing, location of samples and different discharge types
• Understand the methodologies, frequency, volumes, technical considerations and parameters
• Understand the sludge testing approach
• Understand final documentation, preservation and transport requirements

The ZDHC Wastewater & Sludge Sample Collection Training is offered by ZDHC Academy as an online self guided training. The entire training needs to be completed in 6 weeks, including the final examination. After which you will be provided with a ZDHC Certificate, if you meet the training requirements.

• Get your lab manager to nominate you for the training. They can do so by logging into the Solution Provider Platform (SPP) and go to “Nomination”.
• Training invitation will be emailed to you.
• Register for the training course via the ZDHC Academy
• Follow the training and fill in the feedback survey
• Pass the exam with minimum 75%
• Download  the ZDHC Academy certificate 
• Become a certified ZDHC wastewater and sludge sampler

A certificate is valuable as it can be shared with partners, customers, brands and retailers. We encourage you to share the certificate via LinkedIn so it will be an added value to your career development. Once you have received the certification you can strive towards become an expert on ZDHC within your own organisation by undertaking more trainings on the ZDHC Academy.
