The in-person Climate Action Training offered on the ZDHC Academy Platform is a tutor-guided training, following up on the Climate Action Training e-learning which is available on the Atingi Platform from GIZ. The overarching objective of the Climate Action Training is to help achieve the industry’s climate ambitions and transition suppliers to a low-carbon business model.
The in-person Climate Action Training dives deep into the topic of climate change and provides garment, textile and footwear manufacturers with knowledge on the impact of the industry on climate change, energy efficiency and renewable energy, as well as practical expertise on greenhouse gases, GHG accounting and target setting.
The course aims to increase the carbon and climate management of manufacturers in the textile, garment and footwear sector. The training is intended for Tier 1 and 2 suppliers, specifically top-level, mid-management and technical staff.
The in-person Climate Action Training is for those who already completed the Climate Action Training e-learning and would like to dive further into the topic of climate change with focus on GHG accounting, energy efficiency and creating action plans to reduce GHG emissions at the manufacturing facility.

Doing the in-person Climate Action Training allows you to gain deeper knowledge of the impact of the textile, garment and footwear industry on climate change and what you as a manufacturer can do to reduce the negative impact. You will learn about GHG accounting and what you can do to reduce greenhouse gas emissions throughout your operations. During the in-person training, exercises and examples are used to familiarise yourself with real case scenarios.
The in-person Climate Action Training includes several modules. The trainer will guide you through and key topics such as GHG accounting, energy efficiency measures and target setting are emphasized by using examples and exercises.

This training will enable garment, textile and footwear manufacturers to better understand the relevance of global decarbonisation efforts, their role in contributing to these efforts and accounting for their greenhouse gas emissions, as well as a deep dive into solutions available for cutting emissions throughout their operations.
