November, 2025: The ZDHC Suppliers Roadmap to Zero OUTPUT section covers 4 major chapters related to wastewater and sludge guidelines, ETP Assessment, Chemical-related disposal and Air Emission Guidelines.
The ZDHC Wastewater and Sludge Guidelines V2 were published in the end of Oct 2025, which includes the inclusion of new ZDHC MRSL substances, stringency in the reporting limits, as well as inclusion of new test methods based on the ZDHC MRSL V3.1
Some of the main updates include the following
- Updates related to facilities included in the scope for the Supplier RtZ
- Testing of 4 organic solvents as “Sample and report” with a special condition for direct type of discharge
- Temperature absolute is included as a new parameter
- Semi-announced sampling process
- Inclusion of 3 new ZDHC MRSL groups in the scope for sludge testing
ZDHC ETP Assessment chapter was also published which highlighted the various actions related to the ETP Assessments for the onsite assessment facilities that are classified as direct type of discharge irrespective of the daily flowate of 15m3/day and the 3 areas that are covered under the scope of the Onsite ETP Assessment i.e. ETP process design, operational contol, team competence along with the KPIs, scoring methgodology, onsite assessment cadence based on the scoring as well as actions needed from the supplier after the onsite ETP Assessment that is performed by ZDHC Approved ETP Reviewer.
Chemical-related waste disposal focuses on aspects related to waste reduction at source and methods for safer disposal of chemical-related waste.
